United States Air Force Paralegals: Law, Order, and Excellence

At Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama, a new group of Airmen completed their final requirement at the Air Force Advocate General’s School — Paralegal Apprentice Course 25-005. With that step finished, the class closed one chapter and moved into another. Less academic now. More consequential. The ceremony reflected the profession itself — measured, restrained. Paralegals are trained for accuracy and attention to detail. At the JAG School, instruction covers military law, research, writing, and case support, but that’s only part of it. Joyce Mumia-Stubbs

The City of Redmond announced its “Employee Spotlight” for December at a recent City Council meeting. Taking home the honor was Paralegal Joyce Mumia-Stubbs. A member of Redmond’s Department of HR, Payroll and Risk Management, Mumia-Stubbs was hired in late 2022 as a legal assistant. The position was brand-new at the time, meant to provide reinforcement to a fast-growing municipality that needed more manpower and expertise behind its desks. For Mumia-Stubbs, though, the shoe fit perfectly, and she took off running right away. Read more here»

IndyBar Paralegal Committee Successfully Collects 300+ Teddy Bears for Eskenazi Hospital Patients

The emergency room can be an overwhelming place for anyone with lights, noise, strangers, and the circumstances that ultimately brought them there in the first place. Children can be impacted the most by it. Stuffed animals, on the other hand, have been providing children a sense of comfort and safety for decades. This is why IndyBar’s Paralegal Committee partnered with Eskenazi Hospital’s Emergency Department to help spread a little comfort by sponsoring a Teddy Bear Challenge to provide stuffed animals to those children in need of distraction.
