Paralegal Assists Tenant in Winning $16K from Her Landlord

When Windsor, Ontario renter Lisa Lum found out that Ontario’s Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) sided in her favor and ordered her former landlord to pay her more than $16,000.00, she thought she could finally move on. Sophie Wells

In its seventh year, the National Paralegal Awards recognized the work of paralegals up and down the country at a ceremony hosted at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham last week. Sophie Wells, a childcare law paralegal at Reading Borough Council took home this year’s Paralegal of the Year award. Wells was recognized for her work at Reading Borough Council which over the last six years has included handling care proceedings including those relating to neglect, emotional harm, sexual abuse, criminal exploitation and mental health issues.
