State Regents Authorize New Paralegal Degree Program

An Associate in Applied Science in Paralegal degree program will be established by Seminole State College to prepare students for employment as skilled legal assistants by providing practical training in legal research, writing, and procedures. The program is designed to address a growing demand for qualified legal support professionals in rural and urban areas of the region. The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education approved SSC’s request on October 23rd. Read More Here!

Melissa “Missy” Donovan

The most rewarding facet of Melissa “Missy” Donovan’s 35-year career has been the network of relationships she has built. She has fostered these relationships over the years by supporting colleagues, mentoring new Paralegals, and advising in matters of appellate law at Cranfill Sumner. She has given back to the legal community by serving as the Paralegal liaison for the NC Bar Association’s Appellate Rules Committee and as Paralegal liaison to the Appellate Practice Section. College of the Canyons | Paralegal Studies Department Celebrates 20th Anniversary

On November 1, 2025, the College of the Canyons Paralegal Studies Department marked it’s 20th anniversary with a special celebration held at the University Center. The event drew more than 70 attendees, which included program alumni, faculty members, and members of the Paralegal advisory board. Since 2005, the program has awarded 326 associate of arts degrees and 94 certificates of achievement in Paralegal studies. Read more here.
